Create two folder as Notifications and Ringtones under Audio. If already exist, just ignore and do the next step. Just copy and paste your files as per your requirement. You have to copy SMS Alert Tones, Mail Alert Tones in the Notifications folder and ringtone to Ringtones folder.

MP3, OOG and M4A audio format is supported. Now all the saved tones are available at the same place of Default System Tones/Notification.
Just try and check. I think it will not be a tedious type of job.
Last edited by Hasbee on 2016/12/15 17:49 I've been having issues with custom notification tones in apps reverting to the default tone (New Message) even after setting a different tone in Settings Sounds & notifications Default ringtone. Didn't matter whether the new tone was a system tone or custom. Drove me crazy. Even when selecting a different tone in a 3rd party app, New Message would come up as the default. Now, I think I've solved the issue.
When I updated to Android M (without doing a factory reset), I used ASUS Backup to backup and reinstalled ASUS Messaging, and continued to use it on my updated ZE551ML, ignoring Google Messenger, which is the new default SMS app. This apparently caused some sort of conflict with system tones, which meant New Tone would forever be the default notification tone in whatever app, no matter how many times I changed it in Sounds & notifications. And my apps would constantly use it as their default, or keep reverting to New Message as their default.
If you're having similar problems, just set Google Messenger as your default SMS app and change the default notification tone (both in Sounds & notifications and Google Messenger, just to be sure). This SHOULD solve similar issues. Now the only issue I have is using Google Messenger's very limited functionality. Note that the option is now 'Default notification ringtone' with Google Messenger rather than 'New Text' with ASUS Messaging.
